After 3 hours drive along the dusty african red road we arrived to the campsite by the mighty river Kunene. The words “beware crocodiles!” on the desk quickly explained us, that the river is not really a swimming paradise. According to the locals, each year crocodiles kill a good number of the local people – according to the guide Owen – around 30 in year 2014. An impressive number. The main attraction of the area are surely Epupa Falls and Himba villages, which are scattered in the surrounding African savanna. The landscape around the camp is absolutely fantastic. And the camp is excellent too perfect location to recharge the batteries, do laundry and make a plan for the future. And Epupa Falls spectacular. But you have to experience it in live – to see and feel the water. 🙂
