Irska

Prevozili smo dobrih 2000 kilometrov in s tem obkrožili celotno Irsko in Severno Irsko.

The decision to go to Ireland fell literally overnight. When our trip to Asia finally fell into the water and all the routes to more exotic countries in the near future, we had the choice of “only” EU countries, where the European health insurance card would come in handy in case of health problems. As we have already traveled a good part of Europe and were also looking for affordable trip, Ireland was soon at the top of the list. And when we also found out that the price of the return flight ticket was 60,00 EUR, the price of renting a car 19.00 EUR per day, it was an easy decision to visit Ireland. After a good two weeks on the road around Ireland I must say that it definitely did not disappoint us. We have traveled more than 2,000 kilometers and surrounded all of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The weather was typical to Ireland and despite that we also managed to make some unforgettable hikes – not to mention the fishing moments of our youngest. 🙂 We changed 15 different accommodations, we slept once in a hostel, once in a B&B (which was just phenomenal), but mostly we used Airbnb. And even though we have used Airbnb several times in the past, the choice of accommodations in Ireland has impressed us. Virtually all lodging prices were cheaper than the cheapest campsites in neighbouring Croatia. Most of the accommodations had breakfast, some were a real pearl, and most of them had great owners. I am very reluctant to compare individual destinations with each other. But if I had to, I would surely put Ireland at least on the sidelines of the more well-known neighbouring Scotland – but maybe Ireland did so well because I was simply hungry for a new travel adventure. 🙂 🙂 In short, in the coming weeks I will write more about the individual corners of Ireland – but today, just a few photos from the trip.
